COST actions have a network character and are aimed at basic research.
Because they are viewed as path breaking initiatives for scientific
policy making, they are usually not framed by policy directives but
based on the initiative of researcher groups. The current project, COST
B27 - Electric Neuronal Oscillations and Cognition (ENOC), has the main
objective 'to increase the knowledge of the electric neuronal oscillations
correlated to memory and attention as the basis for neuronal regulation
aimed at enhancing the human performance and health'. COST actions are
oler than the EU framework programs for scientific funding.
