The aim of this project is to monitor the performance
of a translator with the aim to develop a mind-behavior-computer interface
to optimize his/her performance online. This interface is a computerized
system that provides help during translation depending on the translator's
brain activation, eye movements and key presses. Different data streams such as eye-tracking, keylogging and EEG are recorded from professional translators during translation tasks from one natural language into another. The final goal will be to integrate and combine those three data streams to build a system which makes it possible to study in depth the potential of a mind-brain-behavior-computer interface. Such a system could, for example, provide the translator with different kinds of feedback or prompt the translator online with fast translation suggestions to help him/her to retrieve or choose words faster in the target language from long term memory. |
