First Announcement        &     Call for Papers

The Workshop

The purpose of this workshop is to bring together researchers of the main areas of Operational Research, Computer Sciences, Economics, and their respective related sub-areas of applications, in order to promote a two-fold interdisciplinary event joining the interests of the members of both Euro Working Groups on Decision Support Systems (EWG-DSS) and on Experimental Economics (EWG E-CUBE).

EWG-DSS: EURO Working Group on Decision Support Systems

The growing demand for specific approaches of decision making and decision support, keeps us aware of the importance of frequently getting in contact with professionals and colleagues working in the area within a cooperative workshop environment.

The EWG-DSS has been created in Madeira (Portugal) during the Euro Summer Institute on DSS, in May 1989. Since then, researchers involved in this group have been meeting every year in workshops. In 2005, the EWG-DSS will celebrate its 16th. Anniversary in Graz!

This workshop strongly encourages the exchange of new ideas involving topics like: complex decision problems, the evolution of DSSs and its various applications, DSS methodology and frameworks, collective and distributed tools, as well as Internet applications.

EWG E-CUBE: EURO Working Group on Experimental Economics

The general plan of the EWG E-CUBE is to bring together researchers from the field of Experimental Economics and related disciplines like business administration, behavioral sciences, and Operations Research. Since 1999 there exists the CEEL-group at the University of Trento/Italy and the ExLab-group at the University of Graz. As an enlargement of these two groups the E-CUBE wants to combine their ideas. In 2005, the E-CUBE will have its meeting in Graz.

Considering the mentioned points of both EWGs, this Joint Workshop promises to offer a pleasant working environment for all participants, within the beautiful summer time of Graz.

The members of both EURO Working Groups are expected to participate and to encourage the participation of other related professionals, so that further collaboration can be promoted on a larger scale.
